Kolsch: A Beer Rooted in Rebellion
After lagers started to take over and become the dominant style in Germany, the people of Cologne fought back with their own beer: Kölsch. Proud of this creation, they named it after themselves. ‘Kölsch’ literally translates to ‘from Cologne’. This is our nod to that rebellion.
Kölsch is a beer hybrid that is technically an ale but brewed like a lager. This allows it to have the best characteristics of both styles, featuring balanced fruity aromas with a clean, crisp finish.
