About Made in Stroud

Made in Stroud was started by Clare Honeyfield (then Gerbrands) as a series of makers' markets in town in 1991.

In 1999 Clare founded Stroud Farmers' Market , initially known as The Made in Stroud Farmers Market, This was officially launched by on 3 July 1999 by special guests Isabella Blow and Jasper Conran,

Clare started The Made in Stroud Shop on 1 December 2000 as a result of the joint need for her own office (then the Farmers Markets Information Point) and to provide a place for local makers to sell their wares.

Originally a co-operative, the sole aim of the shop is to create community through beautiful hand made objects.

We work with around 190 makers and producers from the Five Valleys and further afield.
