Artisan Stroud Book - get 10% off your pre-ordered signed copy - only at Made in Stroud

We are so excited to announce the launch of Artisan Stroud, which Clare wrote over lockdown 3 after being commissioned by The History Press to compile a coffee table book telling the stories of 25 of the wonderful makers in the valleys.

Sumptuously illustrated with beautiful photographs, the book is being launched on 3 November at Stroud Book Festival in The Ball Room of the Subscription Rooms in Stroud. Tickets are available from www.stroudbookfestival.org.uk

By some strange quirk of coincidence, the launch date coincides with the 30th anniversary of Clare running The Made in Stroud makers market, which eventually became Stroud farmers market, in the very same venue.

The book is a celebration of all things Stroud and creative, with the foreword written by Andrew Wood, artist and founder of the Prema Arts Centre in Uley, and creator of “The Word” in London Road, Stroud.

Following the lives of the makers, the book explores the obstacles they have had to overcome to achieve success, their daily routines as creative members of the community and their influences and passions, which drive them to continue to make beautiful objects by hand.
